The sixth edition of the “Great Water Race” will be held in parallel for non-federated athletes and the general public.
The city of Faro is hosting the 51st edition of the Grande Prémio dos Reis (Grand Prix of the Kings) today, Saturday, January 7, from 15:00. The event is of historical importance for regional athletics, bringing together athletes of national and international importance. This year the race will also integrate the Regional Road Championship.
The event is promoted by the Faro City Council, Algarve Athletics Association and FAGAR E. M. Set to start at 15:00, the race will start and finish at the Jardim Manuel Bivar, taking athletes through the old town, Largo de São Francisco, Praça da Pontinha and Rua de Santo António.
At the same time, the sixth edition of the Grande Corrida da Água (Great Water Race) will take place with the motto “Drink Faro Water”. This parallel race is organised for non-federated athletes and is open to the general population.
