The 45th Tour of the Algarve (Volta ao Algarve) attracts thousands of spectators every year.
It is an event of rare beauty, not only because of the setting but also because of the movements and magnificence of the performance by the top-level cyclists taking part. The municipality of Lagoa has, once again, been chosen to host one of the stages of the Tour of the Algarve in Cycling. This year, the Individual Time Trial will take place here, starting and finishing next to the FATACIL enclosure.
And this is the reason for this notice, because the Tour of the Algarve in Cycling is going to be passing by your door. While this means that you will have the chance to see a unique event, it also means that some disruption to traffic is inevitable. With this in mind, the details of the route that the cyclists will take when the Tour of the Algarve in Cycling comes to Lagoa on the February 22 are given below. Please note that traffic will be restricted on the roads and at the times listed as the cyclists pass through.
Partida / Start Line – Rua das Alagoas Brancas – FATACIL
Left at the crossroads – N124-1 – Towards Carvoeiro
Rua dos Pescadores – N124-1 – Entrance to Carvoeiro – Largo da Praia do Carvoeiro
To the right up the Senhora da Encarnação Ramp (wrong way on this one-way road) – Heading towards the church
Straight ahead – Estrada do Algar Sêco – turn left into Rua das Flores
Right at the crossroads – Estrada do Farol (Passing the Hotel Almansôr and Vale Centeanos Beach)
Rocha Brava – Left at the crossroads to Benagil – Rua Vasco da Gama
Left at the crossroads to Lagoa – M1273 – Heading towards Poço Partido
Right at the crossroads to Quinta dos Salicos – Right after the “O Pescador” restaurant
Manuel Ferro roundabout – Left – Heading towards the “Rústico” restaurant
Straight ahead – Heading towards “Antiga adega da Caramujeira” – Left at the roundabout – Porches
Left at the crossroads to Vale d’el Rei / Lagoa – Straight on at the roundabout at the old school
Right at the roundabout to Lagoa
Meta Final / Finish Line – Rua Parque empresarial / FATACIL
