Portimão has welcomed the opening of a new attraction: 3D Fun Art Museum.

Described as a “innovative concept in a unique space,” the museum features over 40 different scenarios, including 3D images and optical illusions.

The space in Portimão boasts a few novelties compared to the other two 3D Fun Art Museums (in Lisbon and Funchal), such as an “immersive augmented reality experience on a giant screen where visitors can interact with dinosaurs and other wild images” and “new photographs showing Algarvian monuments and landscapes.”

“After Madeira and the success we had in Lisbon, we decided to bring the experience to the Algarve, where visitors can personify Van Gogh’s doctor or even have a dinosaur as a pet. They can also see the world completely upside down and capture all these moments with their mobile phones or cameras and share them with friends and family,” say Lara and Ralf Hein, the Portuguese-German couple who brought this concept to Portugal for the first time in Funchal in 2019.

The museum is located on Avenida Guanaré, no.35, and is open every day from 10am to 9pm.

Tickets cost €13 for adults and €9 for children, while a family package for two adults and one child is available for €30 (plus €7 for every extra child). There are also special deals for groups of at least five people, with each ticket costing €11 (for adults) or €7 for children.
