Defence minister Helena Carrereiras has received one of Correio da Manhã’s ‘thumbs down’ today over news that yet another Commando recruit is in a life-threatening situation following a gruelling training exercise in intense heat. The young man has been placed in an induced coma and “is reacting to stimuli”, says the minister. “But the situation is still one of great reserve”. CM’s thumbs down explains: “It is not possible that after the last Commandos course (nº138) in which six recruits were hospitalised, nothing has changed. Course nº 139 already has one recruit in a coma”.
