Third ‘Chef & Somm’ dinner brings Douro wines to Mimo Algarve

The third and penultimate ‘Chef & Somm: Winery Spotlight’ wine pairing dinner will be held at the Mimo Algarve cooking school at the Pine Cliffs Resort in Albufeira on Saturday, September 28. The dinner begins at 7.30pm and will run for two hours.

This time the invited winery is Quinta do Crasto from the Douro wine region.

Chef Lúcia Ribeiro is promising an unforgettable dinner, which will see her creating an “exclusive menu, available only for this dinner”, that will be paired with Quinta do Crasto’s wines by Mimo Algarve’s expert sommelier Cristiano Pereira.

For starters, there will be clams cooked with coriander and sour cream accompanied by Crasto Rosé 2018, followed by John Dory fish with cauliflower and fennel paired with Crasto Superior Branco 2017.

The menu also includes ‘Presa Ibérica’, a kind of marbled black Iberian pig meat, served with fava beans and egg alongside a Quinta do Crasto Reserva Vinhas Velhas 2016, as well as a rib-eye steak with potatoes and spinach accompanied by Crasto Superior Syrah 2016.

For dessert, Lúcia Ribeiro will serve a lime tart with coconut tapioca and mango tartar that will be served with a glass of Quinta do Crasto LBV Porto 2013.

Price is €85 per person and reservations can be made at Mimo Algarve at Pine Cliffs, through the Pine Cliffs Concierge service or online.

The last ‘Chef & Somm: Winery Spotlight’ wine pairing dinner will be held on October 26, with details due to be revealed soon.
