Carvoeiro and Portimão to host Elvis Presley tribute concerts
The Algarve Jazz Orchestra and tribute artist Sélvis Prestley will be paying homage to the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ with two concerts in Carvoeiro and Portimão this month.
The first will take place at Carvoeiro’s beachside square this Thursday (August 15) at 10pm, while the second will be held on the beach at Praia da Rocha in Portimão on Friday, August 23 at 6.30pm.
All of Elvis’ classics will be played, including “Jailhouse Rock”, “Don’t Be Cruel”, “I Got a Woman”, “Always on My Mind” and “Suspicious Minds”.
“Elvis Presley is the King of Rock, a title that he undoubtedly deserves,” the Algarve Jazz Orchestra says.
“Elvis wasn’t an artist that limited himself to Rock and Roll and, like many other crooners, he explored several genres,” the orchestra adds.
Naming his concerts in Las Vegas in 1970 and in Hawaii in 1973 as some of his most “emblematic”, the orchestra will team up with the well-known tribute singer Sélvis Prestley to recreate some of those iconic moments in the Algarve.
Entrance to both concerts is free.
