Faro businesses open until midnight

Businesses in downtown Faro are all set for the fourth Baixa Street Fest which will keep them open until midnight every Friday in August.

Held every summer, the event aims to make the most out of the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of tourists enjoying their holidays in the Algarve who are also potential customers.

Like in previous editions, the Baixa Street Fest will promote a wide variety of culture and street entertainment, from musical parades to performative arts, theatre and contemporary circus.

There will also be an exhibition of urban art along the downtown streets painted by “experienced and distinguised national artists”.

The Baixa Street Fest is organised by Faro council, Algarve retailers’ association ACRAL and the association of comercial development of Faro’s historic centre ADCZHF.

The local council also reveals plans to organise afternoon entertainment every Saturday in downtown Faro from the start of September to the start of November in a bid to “mitigate the effects of seasonality and strengthen the commercial and leisurely attractiveness of downtown Faro”.
