Sunken boat removed from bottom of Ria de Alvor

A boat that had been rotting at the bottom of the Alvor estuary for at least five years has been removed by fishing authority Docapesca.

Alvor parish council president Ivo Carvalho told the Resident that the sunken boat was viewed as dangerous to other boats and that it would affect the remaining dredging work that will resume in September or October.

He added that the remains of another boat are also due to be removed soon.
