Bolt transportation service to expand to Algarve
Bolt, the transportation service formerly known as Taxify, has announced that it will be expanding to the Algarve.
In a communiqué sent to the press, the company says it is looking for partners and drivers to begin operating in Portugal’s southernmost region after having established itself in Lisbon, Porto and Braga.
“Reaching the Algarve was always one of our goals. This was a natural step due to the gradual growth of Bolt in Portugal and the potential that the region has, especially with the start of the summer months,” said David Ferreira, head of Bolt in Portugal.
However, there is no set date for the transportation service to start operating in the Algarve.
“We are now in the recruitment process and hope to offer drivers better conditions and salaries than our rivals,” he added.
Bolt’s goal is to establish itself as the “most economic” of these transportation services by charging drivers only a 15% commission of their fare.
Uber, Cabify and It’s My Ride are other similar transportation services available in the Algarve.
