Food to fall in love with at Anantara Vilamoura
A romantic getaway with some “truly delicious food” is what is promised for the ‘Valentine’s Escape’ experience that Anantara Vilamoura has planned.
The experience, which can be booked between February 10 and 14, includes a two-night stay at the resort as well as a “personalised check-in and romantic VIP arrival”, a special meal at the EMO restaurant and unlimited access to the resort’s spa as well as 20% off all treatments.
The six-course ‘Cupid in Champagne’ menu is courtesy of executive chef Bruno Viegas and promises to take clients on a gastronomic journey of love.
It begins with red prawns “cooked at a low temperature” accompanied by green peas, crispy radish and samphire (salicórnia).
Taste buds will then be treated to parsnip cream served alongside mushroom tofu, parsley and kataifi.
Main courses include braised turbot with sweet potato curry, puffed rice and tomato pickles as well as Black Angus beef fillet with celery root, beetroot, roasted shallot and traditional Jeropiga wine.
Moving onto the desserts, diners will enjoy a passion fruit parfait with mango jelly and “crispy flavours” as well as ‘The Love Apple,’ which will feature caramel cake, apple mousse, chocolate feuilletine and toffee.
There will also be champagne pairings sourced from France by the resort’s “wine guru” especially for the occasion. Cost is €85 per person for a tasting menu and €65pp for the champagne pairing menu.
