Hotels association AHP says 66 new hotels will be opening in 2018, most of them in Lisbon and Porto.
The number includes absolutely new infrastructures, and 18 ‘renovations’.
Of the brand new, 29 will open in Lisbon, 14 in Porto, nine in the centre of the country, four in the Algarve, two in the Alentejo and eight in Madeira.
Renovations involve six hotels in the Algarve, Madeira and centre.
