An event promoting gastronomy and history is taking place at Aljezur Castle on August 31 at 6.30pm.

Called ‘Cozinhando na Paisagem’ (Cooking Outdoors), the initiative, supported by the Regional Department of Culture, is being led by Jorge Rocha from the Palato.org project in cooperation with historian Natércia Magalhães and archaeologist Silvina Silvério.

Palato.org is a project that aims to take culinary sessions to Algarve monuments, crossing gastronomy, art and history. Other events have been held in Alcalar, Portimão, Villa Romana de Milreu in Estoi and the Lagos fortress

Residents and visitors in Aljezur will this Saturday have the chance to take part in a culinary-session-cum-history-lesson in the delightful castle, affording stunning views of the town and rolling hills. Organisers promise to delight visitors with their food creations.

A guided walk led by archaeologist Rui Parreira will take place at 6pm. Those interested should meet at the Aljezur Castle car park.
