A play based on the tale of Aladdin, organised and produced by the Aljezur International School, will be presented to the public on July 3 at the school building at 7pm. The play, featuring students and adults, is intended to bring the community together in a unique event in the Algarve.
Calling it the best ‘Play in the Parque’ yet, the school said in a press release that this will be “a unique rendition of Aladdin”, with people from all walks of life joining together to perform a quirky take on this classic tale, which tells the story of the poor boy Aladdin (Hal Nix) and his love for the Princess (Anisha Walmsley).
“The school play is a highlight of the Algarvean calendar. So many people – children and adults alike – have been involved over the years. It’s a great opportunity to get to know one another, make new friends, and be part of something which is growing all the time,” commented Sylvia Catarino, co-director of the school.
Another performance will also take place on July 5 at the Parque das Merendas near Barão de São João at 7pm, and will be preceded by a picnic at 5pm. Tickets cost €5.
