Fuel theft is on the rise in Portugal, say the police authorities.
This year, more than 1,200 complaints relating to the theft of fuel from vehicles’ fuel tanks have been reported to the police authorities.
More than 100 people were arrested in connection with this crime this year.
Thieves use a hose and funnel to siphon fuel out of the tank and into a container.
