A special concert entitled “2 pianos 40 fingers” is being held at Quintinha da Música in Tavira on Sunday, March 29 at 5pm.
Inge Lulofs, Birgitta Klein Goldewijk, Irene Ainstein and Frank Fahner will perform music by Beethoven, Ravel, Brahms, Schubert and Tchaikovsky on one or two pianos with 20 or 40 fingers.
Birgitta Klein Goldewijk is a renowned soloist in the Netherlands, Germany and UK, where she has performed at the Birmingham Conservatory.
Inge Lulofs works with the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, where she plays piano and celesta, and is the accompanist for all auditions.
English-born Irene won the first prize in a competition for young musicians after only a year of piano study. She later participated in the Contest Mozart, and has performed in the Netherlands, Germany, England and China.
Frank is a well-known accompanist and teacher who has invented computer programmes and computer games to help students of music theory.
The “2 pianos 40 fingers” concert, organised by Algarve History Association, has become an annual event at Quintinha da Música. Cost per person is €25.
