More than 154,600 vaccines were administered across Portugal yesterday as the drive to vaccinate as many people as possible to stem the spread of the Delta variant picks up speed. Says the vaccine technical commission, there is no doubt from current data that the vaccines have had “an immense impact” on the number of deaths resulting from infection with SARS-CoV-2. Tuesday’s vaccination tally was ‘the highest so far’, as health workers aim to vaccinate 850,000 people per week for at least the next two weeks.
