15-year-old killed crossing rail tracks with friends

A 15-year-old boy was killed early this morning as he attempted to cross railway tracks in the company of friends close to Belém station in Lisbon.

Stress reports, the youngsters were crossing a stretch of line that is not afforded any pedestrian access.

No one else was hurt.

Authorities arrived en-masse, bringing in psychiatric support for the boy’s companions.

The line, connecting to Cascais, was closed for over an hour.
