The Council of Ministers has approved an amendment today, allowing 14 -16-year-olds to apply for driving licences for motorcycles or “three.wheel motor vehicles”.
Reports Lusa: “Among the modifications introduced is the possibility of issuing a ‘título de habilitante’ (literal meaning: holder’s title) for individuals between the ages of 14 to 16” with the understanding that they undergo training courses if they want to drive “certain agricultural vehicles”.
In a paragraph that begs more questions than it answers, Lusa explains that the amendment follows ministers’ “transposition” of EU directives aimed at improving road safety.
This is ‘breaking news’ at the moment, thus further explanations may follow.
