14 districts have been put on yellow alert as IPMA forecasts ‘rain, sometimes heavy’ will be arriving in continental Portugal from tomorrow.
The understanding is that the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Vila Real, Bragança, Viseu, Guarda, Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Leiria, Setúbal, Lisboa and Santarém will be first in line for downpours (from Thursday afternoon), while those of Portalegre, Évora, Beja and Faro (meaning the Algarve) should get them from the early hours of Friday morning. The wet weather is expected to continue through the weekend, which sees Sunday as the point where clocks go back to ‘welcome’ the autumn.
