120 mayors and council officials to be made ‘arguidos’ in Ether fraud investigation

Operation Ether, a tentacular probe into fraud involving interactive tourism outlets, is expected to cite no less than 120 mayors and council officials as ‘arguidos’ (official suspects). The reason, explain reports, is that “a new inquiry has been born from Ether”, again raising suspicions of deep-rooted corruption and ‘old boy net’ arrangements within councils in the north of the country. For now, 60 mayors and officials have arguido status
