12 disciplinary processes opened into schools that have ‘inflated students’ results’

IGEC – the general inspectorate of education and science – has intervened preventively in 78 institutions of education over the academic year 2021/2022 – 66 public schools and 12 colleges – resulting in the opening of 12 disciplinary processes. All these processes are now at what is called the ‘instruction phase’. The majority of them, says education minister João Costa, involve “lack of rigor in the application of criteria of evaluation in secondary school subjects”.
