With student bodies railing against the exorbitant costs of renting accommodation in and around universities, the academic year is now a heartbeat away with almost 10,000 places still unfilled. Polytechnics have 6,600 place vacancies, while universities have 3,300. Courses with spaces include Medicine and Aerospace Engineering. To date, 50,000 young people have signed up for university courses so far this summer.
