Maritime police and GNR have scored another major ‘drugs bust’ along the coast, this time in Peniche. First, a high-speed ‘narco boat’ was found – run grounded and carrying 500 kgs of the drug in the area of Peniche de Cima. Later the same day an anonymous tip off to police led agents to a pine forest in Óbidos where another 900 kgs of cocaine bales were discovered. The total haul of the day came to a rough street value of €45 million. Explain reports, authorities have increased coastal vigilance, particularly along the Sines – Cascais stretch, in recent weeks.
